Religious Education
Religious Education Mission
Keep my commands and live my teaching as the apple of your eye… (Proverbs, 7-2) The mission of the Office of Religious Education at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church is to provide opportunities for adults and children of the parish to enrich themselves in their Catholic faith. Strong emphasis is placed on sacramental preparation – Baptism, First Holy Eucharist, Confirmation and RCIA. Opportunities for religious enrichment for children include a CCD program. Adult and young adult opportunities include Bible study classes, “Women of Grace” religious formation studies for women, instructional CD’s and pamphlets on timely issues, “That Man is You” for the men of our parish, a well-stocked Parish Library, etc. Education, like faith, is not a passive activity. It requires a commitment of time and energy. If you are a parent, you already know that your child’s success in learning requires work on your part as well. Faith that is taught in church and nurtured at home is the best form of education. We look forward to working with you and your family as you nurture and grow in your faith. If we can be of any assistance, please contact the Religious Education Department. May God Bless You and Your Family, Call or email the Parish office for additional information, (337) 232-8945 office@fatimalafayette.org |

Women of Grace Study: Formation for Women and Female Teachers in our Parish
The journey begins with your sharing in a 9 week study program with other women in the parish. This life-changing spiritual formation program was put together by EWTN personality Johnnette Benkovic. Many of you may be familiar with Johnnette’s weekly television/radio program and her “rock solid” approach. Her study program is designed to teach women about God’s mission and purpose for their lives.
The study program is ONLY 9 weeks in duration with a final Mass & Graduation ceremony at the end –for a total of 10 weeks. The study format consists of a video teaching, and break-out sessions for discussion and fellowship. Through the format, women are fed spiritually, intellectually and emotionally, and seek to embrace their gift of authentic femininity as daughters of God. From college- aged to women upward of 80 years and beyond, there is something in this study for everyone.
Teachers at Our Lady of Fatima School can receive religious educational credit for attending the study. Call Lisa Melancon, DRE at Fatima School, for more information, (337) 235-2464.
Call Stephanie Supple, Parish WOG Coordinator, for more information (337) 232-8945.
