Fatima Women
On March 10th, 2014 the parish launched the first "Women of Grace" study program for the women of our parish. 144 women from our parish answered our Lord's call to participate in this study. The "Women of Grace " study has been a life changing study for >350 women in our parish to date. Followed by retreats, formation studies, and mentoring by women of faith, Donna Marie Cooper O'Boyle and Johnnette Bankovic Williams.

Mary's Mothers For Moms Mary’s Mothers is new organization at our Parish for mothers who are raising children from grade school ages through high school. The organization brings moms together to deepen their faith and grow in a relationship with Jesus, so that they can raise their children to be soldiers for Christ in a world where this can be difficult and unpopular. Groups will be held in the homes of women of our parish and school. Two groups will be held at the Parish. The setting is convenient and casual. Email: [email protected] for more information . Learning Leads to Ministry
The "Women of Grace" study taught the women of our parish about the unique gifts God gave them as a woman that they bring to their Church and fellow man. Through the Luke Gospel of Mercy study our women focused on how they could apply their study of mercy in their own lives and how they would bring that mercy to others. The "Queen of Heaven" study gives us our finest example, Our Blessed Mother" and her Magnificat as the example for living our lives as a servant to others. Our motto has become: Women who study their faith become women who practice their faith. Blessed are we among women! Listed below are a few of the ministries born out of our women studying their faith. We encourage other women who are interested to be a part of one or all of these ministries to call our office TODAY to sign up. Please call Stephanie Supple at the Parish if you are interested in a ministry or formation study (337-232-8945). Mercy Meal Team Come join a Mercy Team! Mercy Teams will meet the needs of our parishioner families in a time of need or crisis due to illness, death, etc. Each team will be comprised of 6 women volunteers from our parish. The team will have a Coordinator who communicates, organizes, and follow ups with their fellow team members and the parish. Some of the ministry services this team will provide, but not limited to, are listed below. We encourage our Mercy Teams to be creative and meet the needs of their fellow parishioners in many different ways. Each week one meal will be provided by a team member. The Mercy Team will develop and implement a plan for prayer for their family in need. Each team member, or as a group, commit to offer prayers, rosaries, Masses, an Adoration Hour, etc for their family in crisis. The team will inform the family of the St. Peregrine statue program through the parish and make arrangements to get the statue to their home when the crisis is related to a diagnosis of cancer. The team will develop a way to support the parent(s) in the family through communication either by calls, email, and or group texting. St. Gemma Sisterhood As a volunteer for this ministry you will be emailed/called on occasion to provide a bag of grocery items for our homeless and poor who come into our office, on a daily basis, asking for food assistance. We will email you instructions on how and what we need you to bring to our parish office. Typically, you will be asked to provide a food bag every 3 to 6 months (twice annually). Each January our Mercy Work's organization holds a parish-wide food bag drive to stock up early in the year for the predicted needs of our community. Learning Leads to Fellowship
Many women have developed bonds through our studies and wish to continue by participating in a Catholic Women's organization. Fatima has two wonderful organizations that we can supply information for that you can join. Call our office today to find out more about Catholic Daughters and Theresian groups in our area. |
